Nicola Hammond is a seasoned senior specialist in Financial crime prevention covering AML, Sanctions, Tax Evasion and AB&C. She is also a qualified US Attorney (New York) and ACAMS Financial Crime Specialist (CAMS). Nicola brings a unique blend of experience in both Financial Institutions (FI) and the Oil & Gas sectors having led and advised on major initiatives and acted as Head of AML and General Legal Counsel to some MNC’s and international organisations. With over 18 years’ experience spanning general Compliance and more predominantly Financial Crime Preventative measures, Nicola has a deep knowledge and understanding of the both the legislative and regulatory framework as well as advising on risk, conducting remediation services and delivering on efficient KYC/CDD measures within varied industry sectors.

Her expertise covers a range of SME advisory input and stakeholder management involving the design and implementation of FC Transformation programmes, including effective policies and procedures covering AML, Sanctions, AB&C and CDD. Her experience within the oil and gas sectors has seen her spearhead project deliverables including conducting audit driven gap analysis across all Lines of Defence, designing and implementing 3rd Party Risk Management Programmes and managing Due Diligence and advisory teams. Nicola is also a qualified trainer, having designed and delivered numerous Financial Crime prevention training modules to some of the world’s biggest financial institutions. Client deliverables include the likes of BP, Total, HSBC, RBS, LCF Rothschild, Exiger – Tullow Oil Project etc.
